|10:00 am - News in brief|
Good morning. This is Colin's Livejournal. I'm Colin.
A house exploded on division street this morning around 4:00 AM. I don't remember hearing the explosion, but I did wake up around that time and heard our neighbors across the street talking about the Capitol being under attack (which, I suppose, is what they thought the explosion was). They eventually shut up, and I wasn't awake enough to be concerned.
Last week "Weird Al" Yankovic's parents were found in their home, dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. One of many news stories about the incident can be found here. Anyway, a few of my friends have linked to various news articles, but I haven't seen anybody link to Al's response yet, so here it is.
Nobody made coffee at work this morning. I'm fighting and losing the urge to go downstairs. It's not that I want coffee specifically, but it's free and I want something to drink. The water is free too, but I'd have to rinse and scrub out my coffee mug if I don't want the water to taste unpleasant. Mmmmm. Unpleasant water.
Finally, there's a store in Avon, Colorado called Beaver Liquors.

Wasn't there a similar house-explosion case on the east side within the past decade? What's wrong with Madison that drives homes to self-immolation?
I remember that. I think. I also remember a house explosion downtown near vilas some years ago, too.
yeah the vilas one was something like 15 years ago and it was due to the built up methane from the dump underneath. ;)
I think I'll quote my favorite coworker/ex-sorority girl on this one: "It beats being constantly filled up with college students."
