|11:40 pm - 31 Days of Halloween|
This October I'm doing something I've always wanted to do: I'm going to watch a horror movie every night, and write a little something about it here. More than anything, this is just an excuse to work my way through a lot of old movies on my to-see list. I haven't made a list or planned this out -- I just realized today that it's October first, and by God, I've always wanted to spend an October this way.
I have regular obligations on certain weeknights which may prevent me from watching a whole feature film, but I was also thinking about delving into some of the old Halloween specials that ran on TV when I was a kid, and there's a very special episode of the show Monsters that I'd like to revisit. Some nights (like tonight) I'll be fighting the clock the post an entry by midnight, and the quality of the criticism is going to vary, because I've Got Other Stuff to Do. Anyway, we'll see how this goes. I'd like to start up my podcast again, and get back into writing actual essays instead of microbloggery, and this will be good practice.
I plan to run more heavily toward classics than modern films, but I'm willing to entertain suggestions of any kind.
And now, without further ado:

I think it's great that you are trying to get into writing again, I enjoy reading your work. Good luck.
Thanks Becki! I'm excited too. Probably more than you are.
This is perhaps the single greatest idea I've ever heard coming from you, after a particular musical artist whom shall remain nameless. The idea of reading your reviews of movies leading up to Halloween is actually making me want to read more LJ.
It's stuff like that what makes you awesome.
Thanks Nick! And I suck pretty badly for never mailing you that... thing. I'll get on that this week. Seriously.
