09:51 am - Mary Anns have reached critical mass.
During a phone call to a small bank in Georgia:
Lady on the Phone: Thank you for calling XXXXXXXX Bank, how may I direct your call?

Me: I'd like to speak to Mary Ann, please.

LotP: We've got seven Mary Anns here, honey. Which one you want?
The bank is located in Moultrie, which has a population of around 14,000. I'd have to do some more research to determine how many Mary Anns that is per capita, but I know small town banks well enough to say that seven is half (or nearly half) of their staff. In a certain unjustifiable way, I find this very disturbing.

All the years that I lived in the south, the only Mary Ann I remember was my 7th grade English teacher. Maybe they mostly work at banks.

See, that's even more disturbing.

But only a little.
