Current Music: Jonathan Coulton -- Re: Your Kidneys

Can anything be more redundant than a smoother, easy-listeninger, Muzak version of The Fool on the Hill by the Beatles?

This is ridiculous.

Anyway, I'm somewhat sorry that I haven't been posting regularly. Mostly what you've been missing is me complaining about pain and discomfort. Whatever I'm experiencing is (according to the doctor I saw this morning) "kidney related, probably not serious." I won't bore you with details, except to say that I'm fine. I'm somewhat sluggish, since it hurts to move, but all in all I'm okay, and the doctor has led me to believe that it's nothing to lose sleep over, since I'm managing to climb stairs and go about my normal routines. We'll see. I'll be spending a few of my next week's lunchbreaks in the clinic giving urine samples, but the worst likely scenario is small kidney stones.

In happier news, offBeat Acappella is one of eight finalists in the Chicago leg of the Harmony Sweepstakes, which is sort of the American Idol of acappella competitions. This is kind of sort of a really really big deal, and it's taking all of my strongest resolve not to bite my nails and wet my pants in anticipation. We had to take some photos for this last week. It's been such a long time since I've been involved in a group photo sitting that I'd forgotten how difficult it is to get pictures that don't suck. Anyway, if anybody actually wants to make the drive down to Chicago on March 24th to see our ten-minute segment of the show, I'm sure I'll have more information closer to that date.

In the meantime, I'm just gonna feel generally good about things.
