|10:33 pm - offBeat on Thursday and Friday, plus a totally worthless challenge!|
'tis the season for me to forget the lyrics to Christmas songs onstage, so I'd just like to remind all y'all that offBeat Acappella will be performing in the auditorium at Edgewood High School on Thursday the 8th at 7:00 PM. Come out and see us -- it's free.
We'll also be at Stella's Speakeasy, "Stoughton's sexiest* martini bar" on the 9th, also at 7:00, also free (as far as anybody knows).
Oh, and this week's Red Meat is totally the reason I read Red Meat.
Finally, since it's been amusing me so much recently, anybody but spidermoon77 who can identify the origin of the quote and picture below gets exactly twenty thousand million points:
|"The experiment begins in the Twin Cities of the single state known as Minnesota, specifically the legendary rock club known as First Avenue, where the artist formerly known as public radio's Garrison Keillor first bathed our world in the purple madness of songs such as When Doves Cry and Powdermilk Biscuit Rain."|
* Read: "only"
Current Mood: calm
Current Music: Turtle Songs of North America ("both a mating call, and a cry for help...")
Not that it matters a whole lot but I will be unable to make both performances as I have to work both nights. *sigh* What else is new?
Meh. It'd be nice to have you in the audience, but between paying the bills and listening to me screw up You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, I'd choose paying the bills.
Meh...it's probably safer if I don't go anyway.
Oh, dear. Well, I teach a lab Thursday until 8pm, and then Inle works all Friday night, so I we won't be able to make any shows this week. *But* the semester is almost over, and Inle's work schedule seems to shift every month, so may over break we can see another show.
Ah, well. 's okay. There will be other shows, and they will always be mentioned here, though you may have to wade through 2,000 words of who-I-hung-out-with-and-what-movie-we-watched.
Wow, I actually have the 9th free! I might finally be able to see Offbeat's new & improved cast perform!

Since Hal isn't here for the moment, "Yankovic" is spelled wrong on the Offbeat main page under "Current Repertoire."
Cool -- hopefully we'll see you there! And I'll alert Eric (who handles our website) to the typo.
I'm available on the 9th (I think), so I'd like to go. Where is this sexy bar? I've never heard of it, but considering Stoughton, I'm not surprised.
It'd be cool to see you there. Stella's is what used to be The Creamery, which, the more I think about it, is an incredibly small place to have any sort of performance. Perhaps they've renovated the interior; I remember that there were a couple of rooms.
