|03:54 pm - Music meme: Better late than never|
A couple of Fridays ago, emjay42 tagged me to fill out this music meme. I was going to do it, but I've kept putting it off. Here, then, are my answers, complete with MP3s because I rock so hard.
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1) Existo soundtrack -- Hold Me Like This (I'll Love You Like That) (MP3)
2) People Are Wrong! soundtrack -- Dimension 6 Rock (MP3)
3) John Massari -- Killer Klowns Theme (remix) (MP3)
4) Mailbox -- The Pieces (MP3)
5) Information Society -- White Roses (MP3)
6) Fettdog -- Sweetest Imperfection from the Depeche Mode Violated tribute album (MP3)
7) Corn Mo -- Being a Star Captain (MP3)
Alright. Seven people, huh? How 'bout theenigma42, evil_jim, hippieprincess1, the_tick27, seanorange, chloe_soldats, nocturne152. Obviously I don't expect all y'all to come up with MP3s.
Current Mood: mellow
Current Music: Mono Puff -- Backstabbing Liar
Here's hoping that at least one of them doesn't suck. Incidentally, that Depeche Mode tribute/remix album is a good download if you like their album Violator.
Fucking Corn Mo... silly bastard.
I find it wild that so many of those are actually downloadable from the artist's website.
Admittedly, it was a small challenge to find seven downloadable songs that fit the criteria. There are better songs from People Are Wrong! and by Information Society than the ones I named, but they're not available free (and I do like the ones I chose).
If any of them looks like I chose it just to fill up the list, I imagine it's probably the remix of the theme from Killer Klowns from Outer Space (since it's so short), but in fact I've been listening to it in my car for about a month.
Now that I've listened to the Corn Mo song, I must say that his studio stuff sounds much better than his live performance. Maybe it's partly because it's not just him and an accordian, but I think mostly it's because I'm not watching him sweat and sway about like he's going to have a heart attack (kind of like the drummer for that (Michael?) Shelley guy). That must have been what it was like to watch Meatloaf perform.
I kid, of course.
But only a little.
Seriously, though, I don't really have a low opinion of the guy, he just didn't smack of entertaining to me. Comedy demands that I exaggerate the experience.
I dunno. I thought Corn Mo gave one of the greatest performances I've ever seen, but there weren't many at the show who agreed with me (but no, I wasn't totally alone). He's one of the only two opening acts I've ever seen that I'd pay to see headline (the other was You Were Spiraling who opened for TMBG in 1999(?)).
Michael Shelly on the other hand... Michael Shelly wasn't actually bad, just no better or worse than average. The best part of that performance was watching his drummer.
His rendition of We Are The Champions was priceless.
