Nate, Sean and I were hoping to get the old place cleaned out and presentable for our landlord today, but it just didn't happen. We got about two hours into an eight hour job before the two of them decided we should give up and come back to it next weekend. Which is fine. We can probably do what we need to do, since it boils down to the kitchen, bathroom and basement. The basement really just needs to have all the stuff emptied out of it, and 90% of that is cardboard to be recycled. Not realizing that I was still in the house, some of the new neighbors came over immediately after Nate and Sean left (as in, they were waiting on their porch for the vehicles to leave) and started going through our trash. I watched three people enthusiastically pick up the monitor I was throwing away, only to drop it when they read the "No, I do not work.” note I had written on it.
This evening, ribsinbacon and I went to Broom Street Theater to see Rob Matsushita’s Sledgehammer Party. I should be out the door by now, so I have to be brief, but wow. The show is about two couples who, in spending the weekend together, push the passive-aggressive tensions of their relationships to the breaking point -- and further. What a show. Go see it. $7, Broom Street Theater. 8:00 PM, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through September 4th.
Okay, I gotta go. I’m gonna be late.
