|08:36 pm - The Great Crappy Media Giveaway!|
Well, I'm almost moved. I have another carload or so, and the big stuff. In the course of cleaning, however, I came across some stuff that I no longer want. Most of what I'm getting rid of is going to St. Vincent de Paul's, but I found some stuff -- mostly VHS tapes -- that might be of interest to some of you. They're free for the taking, so leave me a comment if you're interested in anything. No, I'm not mailing anything, so the Aussies on my Friends list are out of luck.
Quality of any item is not ensured, as many of these have been stored in a hot closet, and none has been played within the last year. They're free though, so if there's something you might want, by all means, ask about it.
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Wallace and Gromit Gulliver's Travels (the made-for-TV one with Ted Danson)
A Claymation Comedy of Horrors
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (Exclusive director's cut!)
Twin Peaks (Pilot episode)
Ed Wood Mel Brook's History of the World, Part I
Bride of Re-Animator
Amazon Women on the Moon
Johnny Mnemonic Ed and His Dead Mother The Wizard of Speed and Time
They Might Be Giants pre-Elektra video compilation
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, 20th Anniversary Box-Set on audiocassette
No doubt this list is going to turn out to be only partial, so if I have good luck getting rid of stuff this way, I'll post more in the future.
evil_jim: Do you want a very worn paperback copy of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? The front cover is coming off, etc., etc., but it would be a fine reading copy.
theenigma42: I found Critter County. I was going to just slip it into your stuff the next time I came over and let you think that you'd misplaced it for years. but instead I think I'll just bring it over sometime.
In other news, I've felt kind of lousy all day. This is caffeine withdrawal, I think. The people who usually make coffee at work haven't done it for the last couple of days. I've been going downstairs for the free coffee in the break room, but I've been drinking less coffee and it's catching up with me. I have Vivarin, but I don't usually take it. Maybe tomorrow it'll be necessary, though...

If it's alright I'd like wallace and grommit, ed wood, amazon women on the moon, and ed and his dead mother. I like all of these movies, but have never sought them out. If no one else wants them, I'll definately take them. I'll be at Rocky on Saturday, if you want to bring them.
Tom wants the director's cut of Killer Tomatoes. I'm not sure if he was kidding, but I think this justifies a legal contract, and you can force it upon him. Too bad you're not giving away Bubba Hotep.
Too bad you're not giving away Bubba Hotep.
No it's not.
If Tom doesn't actually want it, I'd like it. Well, maybe I'd like it. I'm just going to give it a chance and sucker Liz into watching it with me. Somehow.
Well, I'll put it this way: all of these movies are available on DVD (which is why I'm getting rid of the tapes), and I can imagine other people wanting them. If you think you won't buy something on DVD, you can have the tape since you made the first request. If you think you will purchase the DVD of a movie, I'd like to offer it to somebody else.
I do indeed want all the things I listed in the first post, and Tom assures me he does want Killer Tomatoes (the movie, not the things). If you need to compromise I understand. Anyway, I have no vocabulary tonight.
My VHS collection is nowhere near complete. I'd take anything you think I should see.
Sure! I'll take the Book, Rocky cassette, and VHS of The Wizard of Speed and Time
. I can't imagine why you're giving away the last one but some
one has to take care of it.
Okay! I'm not sure if the cassettes are in good shape or not, but if not, I can make you copies of good ones. As for WoSAT, the DVD you gave me is of much higher quality and I just don't need the clutter. If you want it though, it's yours!
Hahahahahaha.... Wizard of Speed and Time... Now that was an amusing movie.

Damn, I can't believe you're giving away Wallace and Gromit, Twin Peaks, Ed Wood, and Bride of Re-Animator, you sick sick man.
Well, the thing is, I now have all of those on DVD, except for Bride of Re-Animator, which is on the "To-Get" list.

Ahhh, well that makes you a very not sick man ;)
OOOH! Can I claim Gullivers Travels, Mel Brooks' History of the World, Part I, and Johnny Mnemonic? Pwetty Pweese?
If noone claims the TMBG vidyas, I'll take that, too. If we don't like it (HIGHLY unlikely), I know someone by the name of tmbgfan1234 (might even be an LJ now) who might be interested. But that's only if we don't like it.
I'd like Ed Wood, if it hasn't been claimed yet.
I think theenigma42
put claim to that in the very first post. I woodda put a claim in for it if it were available. For you, naturally. But if one of these job thingies pans out, we can get a celebratory Ed Wood.
