Smoke me a clipper -- I'll be back for Christmas. (Bacon danish and live theater)

Well, Bacon Danish day is over, and I'm proud to say that it went better than you expected. In fact, I already have ideas to make them suck less next time. I made a berry sauce to be served over them and that was quite good, too. Maybe you'll get more details next time (if there is a next time), but for the moment, here are the pictures:



The unbaked pastries. Copious amounts of cheese were added so's the bacon wouldn't fall out if'n we turned 'em upside down (as one must do when testing all food experiments).



Baked. Does this look photoshoped to you? It's not. Either the lighting in Ellen's apartment was a little weird, or I'm ill-equipped to work this camera. I haven't consulted her, but I think we'd disagree on which one it was.



Final presentation with garnish. Note the succulent berry sauce. Note also that Ellen's fridge is entirely devoid of scallions, fresh parsley, red kale or any other appropriate garnish. I needed something for the presentation though, so I put a bottle of salad dressing and a bottle of her cat's antibiotic on the plate. I did not ingest much of the antibiotic.
