04:00 am - Cutting Edge
I remember trying to log in to the original Command and Conquer servers a year or two back and feeling like I was knocking on the boarded-up gates of a ghost town.

04:10 pm - Quick Baby Update
I'm up to 137lbs and have been for about a month. I was concerned that I hadn't gained anything since my last visit to Dr. Bell but after the last one when I was poked and proded and measured he said baby and I are doing fine. The little guy is gaining weight and growing, it's just I'm not at the moment. I'm now up to a visit every two weeks instead of once a month. My prenatals don't make me sick anymore but the fatigue that I had the first three months is coming back.

Mom and I have bought so many cute cloths at rummage sales, including some really high end/designer ones for under a dollar. I've got just about all the baby cloths I'll need so I'm hoping I'll be getting gift cards at the shower next Saturday so I'll be able to get diapers and formula after the birth.

Just started my third trimester and I've got about 12 weeks left to go. I'm so happy. As much as I love having this big belly*, I really can't wait to hit the new gym next to my house and get back to my normal size. Yay friend with a membership who wants me to go with her and can get me in for free, and yay for a mom who is willing to watch baby so I can go!!!

*I do love the belly. Just the other day I had two girls at the bar tell me I looked absolulty adorable and then they asked if they could touch my belly.

03:41 am - the world just gest weirder
This is probably old news, but I just stumbled accross it today... John and John's voices singing for Mickey and pals, then seeing the gang dance to TMBG singing about a hot dog... well, my brain just kasploded.

06:17 pm - Can you spell Bishōnen?
At rock band to play a song called IV by X Japan.

I always thought of the band as sort of gender reversed Evanescence(Nu Metal with pretty tenor vocals).

Boy was I wrong...

Imagine J-Pop with hair to rival Sique Sique Sputnik, like to pretend they're Guns and Roses, and do a of ballads. This is what you get.

For the record their guitarist has the coolest pants I've ever seen.

For some reason their drummer wears a lot of bandages... In this video he's sporting of those neck braces that whiplash vitoms wear.

Edit: thinking about it I'm almost completely positive that X Japan did the theme sonf for at least one season of Inuyasha...

he he I sang J-Pop in Rock Band :D

Edit: Apparently there is an official X Japan Hello Kitty, known as the YoshiKitty

06:29 pm - Monona Terrace open?
Does anyone know if the Monona Terrace rooftop garden is open for fireworks viewing tonight? The website does say it's open until midnight on Saturdays, but they didn't mention holidays.

Thanks!

11:59 am - On Drugs
This will eventually be about Michael Jackson. Bear with me.

Why people are too stupid to use pharmaceuticals )

And that brings us to Michael Jackson.

He's had insomnia since 2005, right around the time his latest trial started. A nurse who treated Michael Jackson earlier this year claims he begged her for Divprivan. This horrified her, and even though she tried to explain how dangerous it was, Jackson insisted it would be fine as long as there was someon there to watch him and wake him up. It's a drug that's administered through IV and pretty much knocks you out right away. The nurse tried to explain, "you're going to take it and you're not going to wake up". Carbon dioxide builds up in your system, and eventually causes your heart to start beating erratically... and stop altogether. Even with supervision, if you use this drug long enough, it's going to FUCKING KILL YOU.

Is that what happened? A lot of details around his death would make sense. Jackson's doctor was there at the time, and administered CPR when his pulse became thready. Why else would he have even been there at the crucial moment unless he had administered Diprivan and was doing as Jackson requested the nurse to do? Why then flee the house and leave his car behind unless he knew what he was doing there was wrong or at least highly dubious (Diprivan is not typically prescribed for private use)?

Drawing these parallels, it's not hard to deduce what happened. And now it looks like there is confirmation: Diprivan has been found at the house where Michael Jackson died.

11:03 am - I swear something about my yard attracts all the stray animals in the neighborhood
Are you missing your golden retriever? There is a big beautiful dog with no collar hanging out in my yard on Baldwin. If you know him, please come and get him. He's not causing any trouble, and he is super friendly, but no one in our building knows him or has ever seen him before.

08:48 pm - Elver Park fireworks?
I fear the trees on our block have finally grown tall enough that we won't be able to see the fireworks from our driveway this year.  So... anyone here know any good out of the way-ish spots to view the extravaganza?

Thanks!

08:10 pm - Estate planning
My family has some ducks we need to get into rows, and our life situation has become complicated enough that the will-in-a-box software isn't going to cut it anymore. We would like to engage the services of an experienced attorney with a specialty in wills and trusts. Before we take a stab at the names in the phone book, does anyone have recommendations or experiences to share? I'd be most grateful.

03:22 pm - Gabriel Is home
:)

In other news:

I'm not sure if it's the penchant of running arround in small shorts and leopard print, maybe it's my mustache, but I'm feeling a certain kinship with these fellows

Thankfully my plate is way to full to pick up a new hobby. Otherwise I might be searching for kettle bells online.

I may however need to see if these guys have an American chapter.

02:02 pm - alterations
I have a few bridesmaids dresses that need to be altered. Any recommendations? (West side and fast turnaround time would be ideal, but anywhere in Madison or Middleton would work. Or Verona.)

10:27 am - Beware The Hordes Of Chaos!
A few years ago I made compilations of metal and/or heavy rock music for my cousin, just to help keep him in the know of some of the newer music coming out. I recently started putting them together again, and I'm quite happy with the last two. Just thought I'd throw them online for anyone else who might interested in listening. Enjoy!
