03:24 pm - Re: The back of my head
It's been a long time since I've scanned and posted a fortune from a fortune cookie. You must understand, the woman who used to order from my favorite Chinese restaurants has moved to a different department, and now the only person at work willing to coordinate lunch orders only likes Chang Jiang, which is generally good but has lousy hot and sour soup.

I adore hot and sour soup.

And since I can't get good hot and sour soup when I order Chinese food with my coworkers, I just opt not to order. No order means no cookie, so it's been a long time since I've done this.

But that changed last night. I got together with jinxedkisses at Imperial Garden where they have fantastic hot and sour soup. I didn't order any, but I did get beef with broccoli, and that comes with a cookie. You can interpret my fortune however you like:

Anyway, moving right along... I'll be heading out to B-Fest tomorrow morning... Going to try to get a good night's sleep because I'll be up for at least 36 hours afterward. This year's lineup looks spectacularly fun. I'm actually very worried about sleeping through the good stuff because really, there's nothing on the list that I don't want to see. I'll have to spend the night shopping and then packing before I practice with offBeat. I'm going to do a lot of rushing around this evening. I was hoping to get an episode of Science Fiction Double Feature out before B-Fest, but it's just not going to happen.

On a completely different topic, Stylus has listed the Top Ten Beatles Songs for a Lapsed Beatles Fan, and it's an incredibly good list of songs you wouldn't have thought of. It's certainly better than one I could have come up with off the top of my head. My only issue with it is that I soured on Hey Jude such a long time ago that I think I'd bump it out of the #10 spot in favor of, oh, I don't know, And Your Bird Can Sing, I guess. And I might replace We Can Work It Out with It's All Too Much or Hey Bulldog. But I might not.

Like, three. Possibly.

By the way, we have B-Fest driving plans figured out. I'll call Nick tonight to finalize them.

I'm glad to see that someone besides me places Paperback Writer highly on their list of Beatles tunes. I've been in love with that song for no particular reason before I knew it was by the Beatles. Anyway...
