11:17 pm - Merry New Year, I guess.
You know, I'd really like to write you a wonderful post tonight, but I've been really depressed over the last several days. I've been trying to hide it in order to fool myself into having a good time, but it's not working and there's no external cause for it that I can ascertain. I know how hard it is to care about "woe is me" posts on your Friends page, so I'll try to keep it brief.

Wahoo, it's 2006, etc.. I hung out with Ellen yesterday before she went to work, and rung in the New Year with agaysexicon and fuzzyinthehead. I was grateful for the company, even if I personally wasn't much fun.

Anyway, I'm not fishing for sympathy because it makes me self-conscious. I just feel compelled to post something acknowledging the new year since everybody else has done it. I'm fine, or at least, I expect to be.

Somebody once told me that "if you can't figure out what you want, it's probably a nap." I think they were on to something.

G'night.

I was going to wait until next I saw you but as I suspect you need it sooner rather than later I will share the following with you:

A young man named Andrew runs the website Songs to Wear Pants to where he writes songs in any genere, for free or for money, based on instructions people send him. There are well over 200 in the archive of requests & they range from why he doesn't like hard rock (It's Too Loud,) thinking about frogs (Thinking About Frogs,) an audience participation polka (Polka Loca,) dedications to girlfriends & nuns to playing the keyboard as fast as possible to serious to silly to.... oh cripes, I spent 20 minutes just browsing for more examples.

I suggest you check it out. As I've already ordered his 3 CDs It will give you a sneak preview of what we'll be listening to on the way to B-fest. Oh, and I highly recommend his covers of Birdhouse in your soul & Experimental Film.

Thanks for the link. Actually, I've already heard the two TMBG covers, but I've always been meaning to check out Songs to Wear Pants To in more detail. I'm looking forward to hearing the CDs on the way to (or ftom (or both!)) B-Fest.

Totally true. Can't believe how long it took me to learn that.

Ok, first thing when you start feelin yucky inside and then your brains say hey I am getting depressed we are not supose to have fun. Igore that little voice and instead call Gerry or I. Or any other number of friends you have and say man I am havin a hard day wanna hang out? When your with friends even if you feel depressed just having them there makes it a bit better. It shows you that they care about you. Fight it with all your might, belive I know been there and I won't go back. You need a friend who can listen and keep mouth shut i can do that, (and not a word out of any of my sarasctic frinds) If you just don't want to be alone come over. I do not work, so i am here all the time mostly. Napping is a temp. solution to something tht will vome back when you awake. I know I haven't got a chance to really get to know you, butWe are here. Emailing vontact info.

Take care and HUGS!

Oh woulda cookie cheer you up on Saterday? ;-)

Thank you for the kind thoughts, and I'm sorry for not having responded, either to this comment or your e-mail. I'm pretty convinced, however, that my depression is almost entirely chemical. Usually a good night's sleep (as opposed to the usual 4-6 hours) does the trick, and if not, a couple of nights of good rest does the trick. Talking it out (and I hope this doesn't come out as an insult) usually does not help because other people don't understand what I mean when I say "I hate everything but nothing's wrong." When I try to talk it out with other people, I usually just end up more exasperated because now instead of just me feeling down, it's me and somebody else.

I do appreciate the thoughts and the hugs, though. Thanks, Tina.

You were good company on Saturday. If nothing else, I had someone to mock McHale's Navy with.

...okay. Either way, I had as good a time as I was willing to have on Saturday, and I really appreciate your willingness and Nick's to spend it with me.

Though I really don't think I need to see McHale's Navy again anytime soon.

I rented a movie specifically for ya. Ok so I borrowed it from Phill cuz he owned it and its cheaper then renting. But to be fair I also rented My Neighbor Tortoro and The Skelton Key because well.....I was curious god damn it.

Either way give me a call if you're free sometime this week. I'm all 3rd shift now so from about 3pm-9:30pm I'm free.

The trouble with that philosophy is that I tend to sleep far too often and don't get much done. Get WHAT done? Hm, sometimes I wonder myself...

See, I've realized recently that this philosophy should be one of my guiding principles. I spend a great deal of time being extremely angry and on edge, and usually this can be calmed by sleep.

I am absolutely convinced that anybody who says sleep is for the weak probably gets more of it than I do.
