05:00 pm - My favorite correspondence of the day:
From a fax we received mid-afternoon:
"The date of birth yall have for me in yall's system is wrong."

Real post coming sooner or later, but I wanted to mention that one before I forgot it.

Considering that "you" is already plural (the singular form is thou), I've always cringed when I heard "y'all" in speach... It's even more cringe worthy in print, and worse when spelled "yall"

Let's not forget the oft-used "all y'all", which REALLY drives home the "all" part, as if y'all somehow excluded someone.

That's not a bad point, though -- I don't terribly mind "y'all" taking the usual place of "you", and "you" taking on the part of "thou"... except that I've often heard "y'all" used in the singular. Sigh... just can't win. Er, "cain't" win.

Don't feel bad, there's nothing wrong with it.

You've ALL got it wrong. He's misspelling, alright, but he's misspelling "yaw". I think he's saying that the system you have for yaw control is messing up the birthdate of his 'yaw', which means that he's sort of floating uncontrollably to the left.
