I just got back from showing Little Shop of Horrors to Ellen.

She hadn't seen it before.

Now I understand that not everybody has seen Little Shop of Horrors. Some people have been living under rocks. Others are probably offended by the depiction of all-American, golden-boy Rick Moranis a courderoy-wearing, glasses-adjusting, dweeb. Ellen, on the other hand -- Ellen the human pop culture encyclopædia and Simpsons-goddess extraordinare -- How she managed to miss out on it, I'll never understand.

I think she enjoyed it. And I'm so looking forward to bringing a copy of Dentist! to practice next week for Offbeat to preview. They think I should have a song to solo on, and I want that one.

I'd much rather go for "(Now) It's only the gass" though that will be more difficult to get ahold of, since it was one of the songs from the stage production that was cut from the movie (as was the REAL ending, I absolutely obhore that sacarine watered down pice of garbage that the brain poliece- I mean sensor burau - forced the director into)

Actually I'm familiar with Now, and it's unfortunate that it doesn't appear in the movie (not as unfortunate as the removal of Don't Feed the Plants, of course). I think, though, that since whatever song I choose is going to appear totally out of context that Dentist! is probably the better decision for the benefit of the audience. Of course I may just be saying that because it is like, my favorite song from Little Shop.

Oh I love that movie so ^_^. Steve Martin's dentist is the only thing I can think of whenever I go to the dentist *shiver*...and yet that song is still my favorite from the movie. But have you ever seen the alternate ending? Let's just say it's not so happy. If ya wanna see it, lemme know.

Never seen it, but I know what happens. I see that SuperHappyFun has it. Is that where you got yours?

Really? I never knew that Little Shop was released with the alternate ending. SuperHappyFun sells it with this ending intact, and it's one of a long list of things I'd like to purchase from them when I'm rich.

Actually, you introduced me to SuperHappyFun -- at last year's Anime Craptacular you mentioned that that's where you'd gotten the Yatta! DVD, so I checked them out when I got home.
