|09:29 pm - Anybody looking for a roommate?|
I've just been informed that when our lease expires in August, I'll have to find a new place on my own as Nate and Sean are looking for another house with our friend Lance. Three-bedroom rentals are difficult enough to find, let alone four-bedrooms, and they're not exactly looking in an area I'd like to live, so I'm gonna have to find other arrangements. I may end up leaving Madison (not the area, just Madison) because I can't maintain my standard of living here on my own. I'm not too happy about it, but we all want to get away from downtown, and this is a better choice for Nate and Sean.
Maybe it's karma. I wrote something earlier today which I didn't actually post about something that happened at work. Remember that woman who always sends out the most asinine forwarded messages? Well she sent two today. The first one was the usual "send this to five people and the fairy at the top of this e-mail will give you a high-five" (I'm paraphrasing, but I didn't make that up).
The second e-mail comes after not having even seen her since last year, and was sent to me and two other guys I work with asking for help moving from the West side of Madison to Janesville. One of the guys always deletes her stuff without reading it, so he didn't know about it until I pointed it out. The other guy said he was just going to pretend he didn't receive it. I'd like to do that -- I really would -- but the AEG is trying to guilt trip me into helping, and it might be working.
I'm not real happy about that either.
Current Mood: Not too happy.

Tell her to pay come college students to do it. I hear they'll do anything for money.
They won't -- I've checked.

This doesn't really have much to do with your post, but I thought you might be entertained by this Fark Photoshop
. Even if you don't care for Harry Potter keep looking, you'll know the one I'm referring to.

Re: obscure reference.
So I clicked on the link and as I went further and further down through the submissions I started to wonder if I'd missed it. I was beginning to think that I'd have to sheepishly admit that I didn't see what you were referring to when the Wizard in Green jumped out at me. Thanks for sharing that -- I'd never have clicked the link otherwise.
Colin it is not your duty, nor should you have to do it. Guilt trips are stupid and wrong. Tell them your busy with a family reunion, or band practice. Better yet, hang out with me that day.
I'll have to figure it out, and I'm still beating myself up over it. I don't know who else she'd ask. Her entire family lives in out West, and her closest friend here at work once told one of my coworkers that he'd have to go downstairs and pick something up from her because it's improper for a lady to use the stairs. I can't see somebody like that lifting a couch.
What kind of rent are you looking for?
I really don't have a figure in mind -- I'd have to take stock of my options first. Right now I'm paying $300/month to live with other people, and that figure doubles (at least) if I want to live alone.
My brother has a pretty nice two bedroom with hardwood floors on Segoe. He has a roommate that is planning on leaving. Rent is $550 plus electricity, split in half.
I talked to my brother, and he would be interested in a new roommate. He has the nicest 2 bedroom apartment I've seen for only $550 (which is the whole rent btw). Let me know what you think.
And while I have your ear, would you be interested in going to Rocky in Milwaukee this Saturday?
Damn -- both of those proposals are tempting. Ellen and I were going to get together on Saturday, and I will talk to her about Rocky. I hope you're not asking because you need a ride -- Saturday will be a longer day than usual for me if I do Rocky, and I'm not sure I can trust myself with that drive home.
As for your brother's place, I was going to talk to you on Sunday, but since you brought it up: this is terribly, terribly tempting, but I feel a little weird about the prospect of living with somebody I don't even know. If he's up to it though, I'm considering it -- it's a hard deal to pass up.
I do not need a ride. I have my car. But more people means less gass money per person. :-) And I'm guessing it's been a while since you've seen Sensual Daydreams? (Have you seen them before?)
About the apartment. It is still four months away before you will be leaving your current place right? That gives you plenty of time to get to know my brother. :-)
So um, you're probably going to notice it anyway, but I made a post viewable only to you. Check it out.
